POSITION TITLE:  Account Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Manager is responsible for managing, supporting, and servicing all of the logistics and data needs of an assigned set of strategic retailers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Understand, maintain, audit and match remittance data to accounts receivable open items to ensure accurate aging/statements for assigned accounts upon request
  • Ensure that the data feeds to/from the retailer are uninterrupted and the data in both systems is identical; Audit, research, coordinate, follow up and resolve the issues that cause any variances
  • Demonstrate the ability to use customer feedback to proactively identify potential systems improvements, ensuring orders are processed timely and according to routing instructions provided by retailers
  • Audit new/open purchase orders, identifying orders that need to be cancelled, as well as any order fulfillment issues prior to order cancellation
  • Collaborate with multiple internal departments and warehouses to answer any questions and resolve any issues that may come from assigned retailers
  • Represents a knowledgeable, efficient, and professional image of Diamond Comic Distributors to the retailer by handling business in a respectful and professional demeanor, address retailer concerns and ensure the resolution of issues in a timely manner, with follow-up when appropriate

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field or equivalent experience and 2+ years account management or accounts receivable experience
  • Must take a “data oriented” approach to account management, using current tools and developing new data tools (Access/Excel/EDI/Onix), while being hands on with a sense of ownership
  • Proficiency with all aspects of Microsoft Office is a must, especially Access & Excel.
  • Ability to successfully communicate, collaborate, and negotiate with multiple retailers, each with entirely different needs, and handle multiple priorities concurrently
  • Basic understanding of distribution/warehousing and supply chain data and logistics flow (operations, purchasing, order processing, sales, and credit), as well as a willingness to understand the structure of the national accounts you are assigned
