POSITION:  Associate Brand Manager – Pop Culture Merchandise

POSITION SUMMARY:

This entry level position works with the Purchasing Director, Purchasing Manager, Purchasing Brand Managers, and the Catalog Department to identify, solicit, promote, buy/sell and monitor inventory for Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. and its retailers.

The qualified applicant will develop strong relationships with assigned vendors, as well as, work with vendors to promote the sales of their product through Diamond. The position places a strong focus on inventory management and vendor relations, as well as identifying products with sales potential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Daily review and maintenance of available inventory
  • Weekly analysis of stocking levels and maintenance based on demand volume
  • Work with vendor and Order Processing Department to track and resolve late shipping products
  • Weekly identification and reporting of excess inventory
  • Prepare monthly data for Sales Department
  • Prepare monthly meeting materials
  • Trade Show preparation with possible travel to trade shows
  • Order and track display samples
  • Work with the Marketing Department to develop product description for Previews
  • Work with the Order Processing Department, the warehouse, and the Customer Service Department to answer queries and resolve problems
  • Stay abreast of new developments in the industry and pop culture
  • Submit price changes, updates, and occasional articles for inclusion in corporate newsletters and marketing materials
  • Regular review of competitor pricing, special promotions, and other offers  
  • Review sales and profitability of product listings with Team Leader
  • Maintain accurate release dates for your assigned product, assist other members of the Purchasing  Team with this task as well
  • Assist Brand Managers in day to day operations
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Present Diamond’s goals in a positive, constructive manner to suppliers, co-workers, retailers, and sister companies
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Must be willing to travel and work weekends (trade shows) when necessary
  • Strong computer skills, experience with MS Outlook and MS Access a plus
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Good organizational skills a must
  • Strong phone manner and people skills a must
