POSITION SUMMARY:

The EDI specialist is responsible for the maintenance of the GENTRAN Server for WINDOWS program, setting up partner I.D.s and relationships, writing FTP scripts, mapping files, updates and other related EDI data maintenance, coordinating set up, quality assurance testing and rollout with new EDI customers; as well as other duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Specific responsibilities during participation to projects:

• Coordinate roll-out activities and Data Migration in relation to new EDI  related projects
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise input into solution design
• Support creation of user and functional requirements, and translating them into design specifications
• Support the test design; conduct and support of functional (exploratory and system) testing; support user acceptance testing
• Coordinate installations and upgrades with Operations, Data Processing, and IT

 Specific responsibilities during System Operations:

• Be accountable for applications and systems and ensure their integrity and validated state during their lifetime
• Take on coordination activities related to smaller changes for systems within area of responsibility
• Act as senior technical resource to provide content knowledge to the incident, problem and change management processes
• Coordinate and support security patching and upgrades with Operations, Data Processing, and IT
• Work with IT to implement infrastructure solutions for operational optimization
• Responsible for installation of new systems and new releases into maintenance and productive environment, following change management procedures

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Candidate should have knowledge in Gentran Server or other EDI mapping software for Windows
• Candidate should have experience in developing the EDI transaction sets: 850, 855, 867, 852, 940, 945, 810, 812, 856, 857
• Candidate must have basic SQL skills
• Candidate must be able to write and maintain FTP scripts
• Multicultural and International experience and scope helpful
• Strong technical skills, systems and requirements analysis
• Strong EDI background
• Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication skills also required
• Ability to learn new technical concepts and systems
