POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the AD/Promotions Manager is a supervisory position that is responsible for developing and overseeing Diamond’s advertising, promotions, and PR initiatives. Manager will be responsible for strategic planning, budgeting and execution of advertising, promotions, and public relations programs, including in-store retailer event activities such as Free Comic Book Day and Halloween ComicFest as well as overseeing print and online ad sales for the company.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate across departments including Purchasing, Retailer and Consumer Marketing, and upper management to create integrated marketing and promotions campaigns that shape Diamond and the products it offers.
  • Expertly manage the activities surrounding Free Comic Book Day and Halloween ComicFest and other in-store retailer promotional activities.
  • Lead PR initiatives to obtain press coverage for Diamond, Diamond Book Distributors and its vendors, the Comic Shop Locator Service, and Free Comic Book Day.
  • Develop and manage print and online advertising sales programs, and in-store promotion placements to both in-industry and out-of-industry advertisers.
  • Demonstrate creative vision, strong promotional writing/editing skills and production oversight of campaign components and materials, along with hands-on project management skills.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in measuring and reporting outcomes against objectives, and using findings to define and achieve future advertising and promotions success.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 1-2 years prior experience in advertising, PR, promotions, or advertising sales.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing and advertising including print, online advertising, e-newsletter campaigns.
  • Experience with Google Double Click, Analytics, and Adwords
  • Knowledge of comics, toys, and pop-culture related products preferred.
  • Strong project management. Ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows-based computers and programs (Microsoft Office essential).
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
