POSITION TITLE:  Sales Manager                     

DEPT:  Diamond Book Distributors

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager is responsible for all facets of national accounts management, from sales to co-op promotional marketing, as well as managing key publisher relations. This position requires some travel, the ability to self-motivate, a professional demeanor, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent problem solving skills.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Selling graphic novels, prose, games and toys to key national accounts and working with them on co-op promotional opportunities
  • Regular communication with publishers to proactively meet their needs, help to resolve issues and keep an open form of dialogue
  • Track and analyze retailer sales
  • Track and analyze co-op promotions
  • Assist at various trade shows and conventions
  • All other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum college degree or equivalent
  • Computer skills a must, knowledge of Outlook and Excel required
  • Knowledge of book market industry required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication required
  • Sales experience a plus
  • Knowledge of DBD services, policies and systems a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
