POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Advertising/Partnerships Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and selling Diamond’s advertising, marketing, and promotional programs. Manager will be responsible for strategic planning and execution of print and digital ad sales, promotional partnerships, in-store retailer events, and leading PR initiatives for Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop, manage, and sell print and digital advertising sales programs, and in store promotional placements to both in-industry and out-of-industry advertisers.
  • Coordinates across departments including Retailer and Consumer Marketing, Catalog, and Purchasing, to create integrated advertising marketing and promotional campaigns for sponsors and advertisers.
  • Expertly manage the activities surrounding Free Comic Book Day and Halloween ComicFest and other in-store retailer promotional activities.
  • Manager AD/PR Associate who oversees in-industry advertising sales and public relations duties.
  • Lead PR initiatives to obtain press coverage for Diamond, Diamond Book Distributors and its vendors, the Comic Shop Locator Service, and Free Comic Book Day.
  • Strong promotional writing/editing skills as well as presentation of campaign components and materials.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in measuring and reporting outcomes against objectives, and using findings to define and achieve future advertising and promotional success.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 2-3 years prior experience in advertising sales, promotions, or strategic partnership development.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing and advertising including print, digital, and e-newsletter campaigns.
  • Experience with Google Double Click management, Analytics, and Adwords
  • Knowledge of comics, toys, and pop-culture related products preferred.
  • Strong project management. Ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows-based computers and programs (Microsoft Office essential).
  • Supervisory and management experience.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
