POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Catalog Assistant is primarily responsible for writing catalog descriptions for products, and curating and maintaining cover artwork, previews, and other digital promotional files for comics, graphic novels, and other products in the Diamond product database. Additional duties include proofreading and writing editorial articles. This position reports to the Catalog Marketing Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Write catalog copy for various products including comics, toys, Japanese imports and more
  • Manage the daily New-To-Order process including writing catalog copy and coordinating with other marketing areas and purchasing brand managers
  • Manage the monthly Opportunity Buys process for providing product copy and information to Diamond’s sales team
  • Curate and manage PREVIEWS Prevues in Diamond’s product database, working with publishers and design department to ready PDFs and jpegs for digital use
  • Update promotional images to final cover artwork and images from publishers and manufacturers
  • Assist in gathering additional digital promotional files such as book video trailers, 360-degree product views, etc. from publishers and vendors
  • Assist in proofreading catalog copy and product descriptions, collateral materials and additional writing duties as assigned
  • All other duties as assigned

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, English, or a related field
  • Adobe Photoshop, photo re-sizing skills
  • Strong writing and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of comics, toys, and related products is highly preferred
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Knowledge of Windows-based computers and programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Additional Adobe software experience: Photoshop, Acrobat, etc., preferred
  • Knowledge of online content management system
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
