                 A position is available in Plattsburgh, New York and Olive Branch, Mississippi

POSITION TITLE:  Training Supervisor

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Training Supervisor is a “hands on” position, responsible for identifying training needs and developing training programs and courses at Distribution Centers; as well as participating in the onboarding process for new employees, training new employees one on one and/or in groups, and conducting “continuing education” training courses.  Coordination with department heads to schedule employees for these training activities is also required.  Training may be conducted in Distribution Centers or at the Home Office.

 

Other duties may include, but are not limited to assisting department heads with personnel performance issues and record keeping in relation to employee retention metrics, conducting new hire orientations/exit interviews, developing motivational programs, and working with the Human Resources Department and local staffing agencies.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, develop, and implement strategies for staff training, development, and retention.  Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of staff training and development.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on staff training and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timeframes.
  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
  • Liaise with other functional/departmental managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of staff training and development, and to ensure they are fully informed of staff training and development objectives, purposes, and achievements.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary staff onboarding, training, and development theory and methods and provide appropriate interpretation to Directors, Managers, and staff within the organization.
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, and environmental policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS in Communication, Education, or Human Resources is preferred
  • Prior Supervisory/Management experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years prior training experience
  • Experience in adult education, program development and implementation
  • Must possess strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to multi task in a fast paced environment
  • Previous experience with a Windows based operating system and the Microsoft Office Suite of tools
  • Willing and able to travel, work occasional nights/weekends as needed
  • Must possess the ability to work independently
  • Working knowledge of supply chain logistics and the warehouse environment.
