POSITION TITLE: Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Functional Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Management System (WMS) Functional Analyst captures user needs and designs, configures, maintains, tests, and supports WMS, Dematic Warehouse Controls Systems (WCS) and related systems. The Analyst will maintain the configuration in a manner consistent with company policies. The ideal candidate is able to work collaboratively to deliver exceptional operational support and assist business users in designing, developing, and implementing WMS functionality. The Analyst will comply with all change control procedures, work instructions and standard operating procedures in support of existing functionality, requested changes and the development of new functionality. The Analyst will also contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of those procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Configures the JDA Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) in production and non-production;
- Configures the Dematic Warehouse Controls Systems (WCS) through serving as an administrator for the Dematic IQ software;
- Supports the Senior WMS Programmer with design, development and solution management;
- Leads and/or participates in requirement sessions by defining and writing specifications, including: configuration, user exit, custom program and reports;
- Gathers Functional/Business requirements from users & sponsors;
- Authors and communicates Functional Designs and System Test plans;
- Collaborates with management and programmers to implement new WMS and WCS functionality enhancements;
- Supports the development team members during detailed design & coding phase;
- Executes test plans for functional unit tests, regression tests and system integration tests;
- Conducts functional testing of implemented applications;
- Provides support of WMS and WCS applications when moved to production;
- Must be available to work nights and weekends, travel, and perform on-call support as scheduled and as needed;
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 2-4 years’ business and/or functional analysis experience in Warehouse Management;
- 2-3 years’ experience configuring packaged Warehouse Management software (JDA preferred);
- Strong knowledge of related business and implementation processes in Warehouse Management Systems;
- Strong understanding of integration between Warehouse Management (WMS) and non-WMS systems;
- Self-motivated, flexible, openness to learn new things, strong focus on customer needs;
- Must have the ability to work with limited supervision and exhibit a strong sense of urgency;
- Ability to effectively mentor less experienced team members on WMS best practices;
- Experience in successful project implementation and follow-up;
- Demonstrates a logical and structured approach to time management and task prioritization;
- Demonstrates a high level of communication skills, verbal and written;
- Strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and resolution skills;
- Ability to monitor and manage the progress of tasks
RECOMMENDED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Experience working in JDA / Red Prairie WMS software
- Experience working in Dematic IQ WCS software client
- Knowledge of highly integrated enterprise-level applications.
