POSITION TITLE:  Data Analyst

DEPT:  Data Integration and Business Intelligence Department

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst is responsible for turning project requirements into custom-formatted data reports. The ideal candidate must be able to analyze business procedures and recommend specific type of data that can be used to improve upon them.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Ability to interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and generate reports.
  • Ability to acquire data from all data sources and create/maintain databases.
  • Identify and recommend new ways to save money by streamlining business processes. 
  • Create data files to process specialized vendor-sponsored promotions; including manipulating incentive quantities and discounts.
  • Monitor special sales and promotional incentives to ensure parity for all participating retailers.
  • Provide accurate solutions when given an inquiry regarding an audit, a procedure, or system.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail while maintaining accuracy and data integrity.
  • Develop a working relationship with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including the ability to create Access queries upon request.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills and ability to work on multiple projects with overlapping timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amount of data with attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and easily adapt to changes in existing procedure.
  • Ability to recognize minute differences in data.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
