Diamond Promotes Key Retailer Services Staff

Eric Beck moves from Director into the newly created position of Director of Retailer Point of Sale (POS) & Tech Services, while Assistant Director Nance Romer is promoted to Director of Retailer Services. Plus, more changes to the department that serves as customers’ direct link to Diamond.

As part of its ongoing efforts to provide comic book specialty retailers with outstanding service, Diamond Comic Distributors is pleased to announce several promotions in its Retailer Services Department.

"I have been very fortunate to work with great people in this industry, but our team in Retailer Services is one of the very best,” said Diamond Vice President of Retailer Services Chris Powell. "The rise of these team members through those ranks is directly related to the exceptional attention to detail and concern for our customers that they have shown."

Eric Beck, who has served as Director of Retailer Services since 2002, has been named Director of Retailer Point of Sale (POS) & Tech Services. Beck joined the Diamond team in 1993 as a Customer Service Representative. Within two years of joining the Company, Beck was promoted to Customer Service Manager. Beck then helped design, organize and consolidate the Customer Service department in Timonium, MD. Throughout his career with Diamond, Beck has taken on many responsibilities and challenges while guiding his department in its primary task of working closely with Diamond’s customers to help them successfully operate their businesses. Beck’s title reflects his new responsibilities as he focuses more of his time and energy in the POS and Tech services area of the company.

"It's been gratifying for me to play a role in the ongoing evolution of Retailer Services," Beck said. "A significant part of that evolution involves the many tech and point-of-sale services that we offer our customers. I look forward to keeping our retailers competitive in this new capacity as we develop and refine our tech offerings to serve their changing needs."

Nance Romer has been promoted to Director of Retailer Services. A longtime member of the Diamond family, Romer began her Diamond career in 1994, working in its Staten Island Distribution Center. Since then, Romer has held several positions throughout the organization spanning from New York to Maryland. In 2002, Romer was promoted to Assistant Manager in Diamond’s Domestic Customer Service Department and later was promoted to Manager. In 2013, Romer was promoted to Associate Director, where she has worked with her team to modernize procedures and the structure of the department to make it more efficient and effective in assisting Diamond’s customers.

"At every level - from shipping product from the Distribution Center to fielding calls at the Home Office – taking care of our customers has been a rewarding experience for me throughout my Diamond career," Romer said. “I look forward to the challenges of my new position, and continuing to work with all of our customers."

In addition:

• Seven Gaines has been promoted to Assistant Manager of Retailer Services. Gaines’s knowledge of the department and the company has enabled him to train and guide others during his tenure with Diamond. His reputation of unfailing professionalism and courtesy is well known among Diamond customers and colleagues alike.

• Kevin Pratt has been promoted to Team Lead of Retailer Services. Joining the Company in 2012, Pratt quickly proved himself with his enthusiasm and initiative in serving Diamond retailers, and in answering questions and providing assistance to colleagues in the department. Serving as the department’s lead trainer and overseeing the Retailer Services Representative Mentor Program, he has managed the training of over 20 Representatives, the direct links between Diamond retailers and the company.

• Zack Malpass has been promoted to Retailer Services - New Accounts Team Lead. In 2013, Malpass joined the Customer Service department as a Customer Service/Sales Representative. His background and outgoing personality have allowed him to work closely with others, assist with the training process and gain the confidence in his fellow reps.

"Each of these individuals has made outstanding contributions to Retailer Services– and to Diamond as a whole," said Powell. "Their advancement – along with the hard work of other Retailer Services team members Managers LaKisha Dubose and Cheryl Sleboda and Assistant Manager Kyle Kreamer - will help position the department to continue our efforts to deliver the high level of service our customers demand and deserve."
