REMINDER: Free Comic Book Day Poll
For its first two years, Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) was held on the first
Saturday in May, coinciding with the release of a major comic book-related
movie. In 2004, there is no such movie scheduled for release at that
time.
Diamond has announced that a new poll designed to let retailers choose the date of 2004's Free Comic Book Day is available from now until August 29 at Diamond Online's Retailer Services Area.
Available at https://retailer.diamondcomics.com/main/fcbd_2004.asp, the poll asks participants to choose from the following three dates, which were determined by the FCBD committee as being best suited for 2004's event:
• April 3, to coincide with the currently scheduled opening of Revolution Studios/Columbia Pictures' Hellboy movie.
• May 8, which doesn't coincide with a movie, but is the first Saturday of the first full week in May, as with 2002 and 2003's Free Comic Book Days.
• July 3, to coincide with the scheduled opening of Sony/Columbia Pictures' Spider-Man 2.
