DST Announces Serenity Screening for Baltimore Retailer Summit!

Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles (DST) has announced that, in conjunction with Universal Pictures, it has arranged for a special screening of Joss Whedon's Serenity for attendees of the 2005 Retailer Summit in Baltimore, MD!

The screening is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18 at Baltimore's acclaimed Charles Theatre, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. Transportation will be available from the Summit site, and Diamond Customer Service Representatives will be calling registered Summit attendees in the coming week to confirm their interest in taking advantage of the screening.

Directed by Oscar- and Emmy-nominated writer/director Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Serenity is scheduled for release on September 30. Based on Whedon's cult-hit television series, Firefly, Serenity will continue and expand the adventures of the series' memorable characters, who will be joined by new characters expressly for the movie adaptation. Whedon will act as both screenwriter and director, with Barry Mendel (The Sixth Sense) producing and Chris Buchanan & Alisa Tager serving as executive producers. The Serenity cast will include such returning Firefly favorites as Nathan Fillion (Captain Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds), Gina Torres (Zoe Warren), Morena Baccarin (Inara Serra), Jewel Staite (Kaylee Frye), Adam Baldwin (Jayne Cobb), Sean Maher (Dr. Simon Tam), and Summer Glau (River Tam).
