Around 450 comic shop retailers, dozens of publisher and supplier representatives, and numerous Diamond employees are came together in Charm City for the 2015 Diamond Retailer Summit. The comic book specialty industry’s premier trade event took place Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The Comic Book Specialty Market’s active retailers, publishers, and suppliers, met for three days of workshops, presentations, and a lively Exhibit Hall.

“We’d like to thank all of our customers who took time out of their busy schedules to attend this year’s Summit, and all of our supplier Sponsors who helped to make the event possible," said Diamond Vice President of Marketing and Sales Roger Fletcher. "We've received a lot of valuable and energizing feedback on the show and Diamond’s overall services and we hope other participants found it equally worthwhile.”

An integral part of what makes the Summit invaluable is the experience attendees get in the Better Retailing Workshops and Supplier Super Sessions that feature roundtable discussions between retailers and publishers. Each allowed retailers to learn more about each publisher’s upcoming plans, ways to market products and offered them a chance to give direct feedback.

"I wanted to take the time to say how much I enjoyed the Summit," said Direct Sales and Marketing Manager at Titan Comics Ricky Claydon. "We received some great feedback from retailers on a variety of properties and it's really a safe space for getting reactions that we would not receive elsewhere."

"I gained a lot of input and ideas for expanding and refining my business over the next year," said Michael Cherkowsky, first time Summit attendee from Vampire Robots. "I also got to meet so many people, including those at Diamond, and the time taken to put together a big event like this is much appreciated."

The environment of the Summit acts as a sanctuary for retailing ideas. Even "down time" conversation is filled with business suggestions and action points. Retailer Chris Pellack from The Shield Comics & Games came up with a new BPA category idea with Diamond employees as he shared his new interactive business card with the group.
