The daredevil "performance artiste" of the Muppets, Gonzo is willing to try anything once (he'll try it again if it's painful). This lover of art, culture, pain, and poultry (and not necessarily in that order) has made the unusual routine and the routine unusual. Little is known about Waldorf, except that he completes the heckling team of Statler and Waldorf. (and is always seen screen left of Statler). When not saying bad things about the Muppets, Waldorf spends time with his wife, Astoria (and we presume he heckles her, too). As a symbol of the United States of America, Sam takes his patriotism quite seriously-so seriously, that he has become the self-appointed patriotic watchdog of The Muppets. Always trying to ensure a program of high patriotic and cultural content, his efforts are usually futile and Sam watches the shows in disgust. Each bust is hand cast in heavy weight polystone and meticulously hand painted to the highest standards. Each sits on a Corinthian-inspired plinth that evokes the image of a classical sculpture while also hearkening to the decorative motifs of the Muppet Theatre. The base also bears The Muppet Show logo and the character's name, while on the underside is listed the sculptor's name and signature, ensuring that this beautiful piece will be treasured item for many years to come.
