Award winning creator and artist extraordinaire, Mike Allred, has created a one-of-kind Madman piece for this year’s Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) 2018 T-shirt.  The T-shirt is available for pre-order at comic book shops starting next week, and is featured in the January issue of Diamond's PREVIEWS catalog.

Mike Allred is one of the most distinctive artists working in comics today. Best known for his wildly popular MADMAN series, which is currently being developed for a live action film with filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, Allred has also had long runs on Marvel Comics' X-STATIX (with writer Peter Milligan) and Silver Surfer (with writer Dan Slott) and DC Entertainment's iZOMBIE (with writer Chris Roberson, later adapted to television for The CW starring Rose McIver) and Bug!: The Adventures of Forager (with Lee Allred, for the Young Animals imprint). Frequently nominated for the Eisner and Harvey Awards for his stylish artwork, Allred was awarded the Inkpot Award in 2009.

"It was a pleasure to design this year’s Free Comic Book Day T-Shirt!" said Allred. "I’ve always loved the environment of comic book shops, and the passion of the retailers who create such an inviting community with their stores. Madman and I are more than happy to support their cause. There’s a lot of great comic books available right now, just waiting for you at your local comic book shop!”

Allred’s artwork for the FCBD 2018 Commemorative T-Shirt captures the spirit of both comics and comic book shops as the perfect place for fans of all kinds to come together and enjoy a good comic book.

The FCBD 2018 T-shirt will be available in black and white, and in men’s and women’s (MSRP: $14.99-$17.99) as well as youth sizes (MSRP: $11.99).  The shirt, along with a complete listing of all the FCBD 2018 comic book titles, can be found in the January issue of PREVIEWS, available in comic shops on December 28th.
