REMINDER: DDP's G.I. Joe #41 Signals End, New Beginning for Fan-Favorite Series
This summer, Devil's Due Publishing (DDP) will introduce a new theme to its
G.I. Joe line of titles, and retailers can start preparing their
customers for it now as G.I. Joe #41
(FEB052731E)
concludes the "Union of the Snake" story arc, and lays the groundwork for a new
G.I. Joe book!
Focusing on a smaller, more streamlined team with a rotating cast of guest stars, the new title -- G.I. Joe: America's Elite -- will usher in a new era for G.I. Joe comics, with stories written by Joe Casey and illustrated by newly signed exclusive DDP artist Stefano Caselli.
The new title, which will be solicited in the April Previews, will begin in June with an issue #0 that will carry a low introductory cover price of 25¢.
The current series will end with G.I. Joe #42 and #43, which will be solicited in the March and April Previews, respectively. The 42-page issues will relate the two-part "Dawn of the Red Shadows" story arc, which will introduce an organization bent on destroying both G.I. Joe and its arch-foe, Cobra.
"The 'new' G.I. Joe will take place about one year after issue #43," said DDP President Josh Blaylock. "Some of the characters will have gone through major changes and we'll be tackling the age issues with the characters and the challenges each faces. The current series will end with a bang -- that much you can bank on. And, yes, not all the key players will survive the series -- on both the G.I. Joe and Cobra sides."
G.I. Joe #41 is scheduled to ship on March 30 -- see below for additional ordering information and a linked listing of in-stock G.I. Joe products, and stock up today!
