Toynami Rolls Out ’89 Batman Batmobile, Batwing Collectibles

Two of the most famous rides ever to tear across movie screens get the Toynami treatment with the company’s Batman Movie Collectible Props, based on the vehicles from the classic 1989 adventure film and solicited this month in the PREVIEWS catalog.

Following years of anticipation from audiences, the first Batman feature film was greeted with cheers, acclaim, and a worldwide box office gross exceeding $400 million. In the decades since its initial release, director Tim Burton’s first visit to Gotham City continues to grab imaginations, in part due to its dark, award-winning production design. That memorable look extended to the Dark Knight’s renowned vehicles, both of which have been replicated by Toynami from the molds of the original 1989 movie models, with interior references scaled down from the original full-size props.

The Batmobile (JUN101606J, $1,690) features electronic LED headlights, rear LED taillights, the replica also features a simulated fire effect at the rear and a detailed display base with nameplate.

The Batwing (JUN101607J, $1,267.50) comes equipped with an electronic LED cockpit, two front LED headlights and 2 amber LED landing lights, and ships with a handsome Bat-symbol display base.

Each item is limited to a production run of 500 units worldwide and is scheduled to ship on August 25.
