Retail Sales Manager (GEM)

 

POSITION:      Retail Sales Manager

LOCATION:      Geppi’s Entertainment Museum, Baltimore, MD

REPORTS TO:  Executive Vice President

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the retail store and on-sight ticketing.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Administrative

• Supervision of full and part time retail sales employees
• Preparing employee schedule
• Documenting payroll hours  
• Daily, weekly, and monthly revenue, purchasing, and inventory paperwork as required by Director of Administration
• Assist in Interviewing and hiring new store personnel
• Reviewing and enforcing all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations
• Documentation of disciplines, counseling and performance reviews as required by Director of Administration.

Retail

• Assist the Director of Administration with the ordering and maintaining inventory of store product and supplies
• Supervise staff in the preparation of store product for display and sales
• Market store product in museum's store and through an e-commerce site on GEM's webpage
• Assist in developing store's crisis management plan, customer service plan and other operational manuals
• Operate POS system, assist customers, encourage and process sales of tickets and store products

Inventory

• Direct staff in maintaining store inventory records
• Direct staff and assist in receiving, selling and the coordination of mailing GEM store merchandise

Special Projects

• Any additional duties as assigned by Director of Administration and/or Executive Director of Museum

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.  Additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years management experience in retail environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be organized and detail oriented
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Familiar with computers and POS systems
• Friendly and professional demeanor
• Interest in popular culture
