POSITION TITLE: Publicity and Promotions Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Publicity and Promotions Associate performs a variety of public relations, marketing and writing tasks for Diamond’s online sites, e-newsletters and social media. The Publicity and Promotions Associate will be responsible coordinating and promoting Diamond’s in-store retailer events including Free Comic Book Day and Halloween ComicFest, as well as general PR duties for the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create press releases for Diamond, its products and services. Schedule and track releases, maintain media contacts database and online PR area.
- Responsible for writing and content management of various parts of Diamond’s websites, mainly freecomicbookday.com and halloweencomicfest.com event information
- Work in concert with consumer marketing team to maintain news and articles, provide consumer promotions for the sites, as well as help promote events via social media.
- Liaison with sponsoring publishers to meet event deadlines, assist in promoting their titles for the event, and provide support
- Assist in creation of emails and e-newsletters and sending emails out through email service providers and internal servers.
- Assist with coordination of promotions and sweepstakes to consumers.
- Additional writing duties as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong writing and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of online content management systems and social media
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Knowledge of Windows-based computers and programs (Microsoft Excel and Word).
- Adobe Dreamweaver skills preferred for HTML email design and creation
- Adobe Photoshop, photo re-sizing skills
- 1-2 years of public relations or marketing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of comics and related subjects preferred.
- Willing to work overtime as needed.
