POSITION TITLE:  Human Resources Generalist  

DEPT:  Human Resources

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for handling the administrative Human Resources functions for the Olive Branch, Mississippi warehouse.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Communicate with employees on individual employee related issues;
  • Conduct new hire orientations;
  • Prepare and administer Disciplinary Reports;
  • Conduct employee training;
  • Handle time clock and payroll related issues;
  • Inform new hires of their eligibility to enroll in company benefits;
  • Assist new hires with the automated insurance enrollment process;
  • Assist in the annual insurance open enrollment process;
  • Coordinate Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) related issues;
  • Interact with temporary agencies for temporary employees;
  • Interact with the workers compensation carrier when a work-related injury occurs;
  • Keep track of all workers compensation paperwork that arrives;
  • Post the OSHA log;
  • Assist in the Employee Evaluation process;
  • Keep job descriptions for this location updated at all times;
  • Monitor and maintain all postings on the bulletin board;
  • Recruit for various job openings, when requested;
  • Obtain resignation letters from employees who resign;
  • Conduct Exit Interviews;
  • Keep track of vacation and sick balances;
  • Maintain the tracking of the Motivational Funds;
  • Conduct reference checks for potential new hires;
  • Assist with coordination of 401(k) meetings;
  • Attend safety meetings, provide safety tips;
  • Coordinate and attend CPR/First Aid Training;
  • All other duties as assigned.

 EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Some Human Resources or related college courses preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in Human Resources.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with automated time clocks preferred.
