Position: Shipping Manager


POSITION SUMMARY:

Principal duties for this position are divided into Administrative, Production, Customer Service and Special Projects functions regarding the operation of Geppi’s Memorabilia Road Show.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Administrative
Primary duties include responsibility for coordinating all shipping and receiving operations at location, inventorying and purchasing all shipping materials, setting up the Current Auction Review room, pulling Sales Lists Orders, as well as establishing and maintaining plant security.

Shipping and receiving duties include understanding the grade, value, sturdiness, delicacy, and special considerations of all collectibles shipped. Additional duties in this area include comparing contents packed for shipping to billing/packing documents, comparing contents of packages received to packing lists or other documents, noting any condition or content deviations from lists, following up on deviations and resolving them as appropriate and coordinating activities with General Manager, Assistant Shipping Manager and other staff.

Duties in this area also include developing, maintaining and advancing relationships with shipping providers and other subsidiary functions related to packaging and shipping supplies.

Security duties include but are not limited to establishing and maintaining plant security by developing, instituting and regularly reviewing the effectiveness of security procedures, which may include inventory controls.

Production
Duties in this area include providing any assistance required in the various areas of production for auction and sales catalogs and other publications as needed.

Customer Service
Duties in this area include assisting in Customer Relations, including but not limited to assisting in taking bids during auctions and providing additional information to customers who want further descriptions of items beyond what is available in catalogs or on the internet.

Special Projects
This position will also be responsible for assisting in hosting special functions, as well as, handling all other duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years shipping/packing/receiving experience necessary.
Must have excellent organizational skills.
Attention to detail is a must.
Must be self motivated and able to multi-task.
Excellent customer service skills necessary.
Knowledge of collectibles and auctions a plus.
