There is currently a vacancy for the position of DRR Clerk at the Distribution Center in Olive Branch, Mississippi.  Below is the job description for this position:

POSITION SUMMARY

The DRR clerk is responsible for reading and recording dimensions of incoming product into Diamond’s inventory management system, as well as assisting members of the Receiving Department with the identification, counting, and receiving of new product.  The ideal candidate must show a strong attention to detail to accurately identify various types of specialty product including comic books, graphic novels, toys, games, and supplies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Weigh and measure product to record accurate dimensions in the warehouse management system
  • Identify newly arrived product that requires special handling prior to receiving
  • Verify shortages, overages, damages, and mis-shipped product reported by receiving clerks
  • Receive product into Diamond’s system on designated purchase orders
  • All other duties as assigned


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma required
  • Must display strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Must display strong attention to detail and be able to recognize minute differences between similar types of product
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes, up to 50 lbs, and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and easily adapt to changes in existing procedure
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) beneficial

PART TIME ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - PURCHASING — DIAMOND COMIC DISTRIBUTORS, INC.

POSITION TITLE:    Part Time Administrative Assistant - Purchasing                     
DEPT:   Purchasing
REPORTS TO:    Purchasing Assistant Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position provides administrative support to the Purchasing Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work extensively with Excel, Word, and Access creating weekly and monthly reports for the Purchasing Department and data entry
  • Run and distribute reports using MCBA (an internal computer program)
  • Assist the Brand Managers when needed by performing assigned Purchasing duties and data entry
  • Take detailed notes during various Purchasing Meetings
  • Draft letters, e-mails and memos as directed
  • Telephone contact with vendors, distribution centers, and internal departments, which may include scheduling and follow up correspondence

BRAND MANAGER - COMICS — DIAMOND COMIC DISTRIBUTORS

POSITION:  Brand Manager – Comics                            
DEPT:  Purchasing

POSITION SUMMARY:

This entry level position works with Purchasing Management, Purchasing Brand Managers, and the Catalog Department to identify, solicit, promote, and buy profitable items for Diamond and offer them to Diamond's retailers.

The qualified applicant will be required to develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned vendors, as well as work with vendors to promote the sales of their product in PREVIEWS.  Strong focus on developing business leads, identifying product with sales potential for Previews, and managing multiple project deadlines is a must.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Negotiate terms of sale, sell marketing services, and prepare supplier information on all new  vendors.
  • Work with Catalog Department to properly describe and present items in PREVIEWS.
  • Work with Order Processing and Customer Service to answer queries and resolve problems with vendors.
  • Stay abreast of new developments in general categories by reading trade journals and competitors’ catalogs.
  • Pursue all avenues to get accurate information on new products and solicitations for the Catalog Department, and input them into the appropriate data structures within established deadline.
  • Write up price changes, updates, and submit articles for inclusion in Diamond Daily and PREVIEWS.
  • Monthly review of competitor's catalogs; RE: 1) Pricing variance; 2) Special promotions they had with vendors.
  • Possible travel to trade shows to search for new products and nurture relationships with established vendors.
  • Stay up-to-date on all industry events and current market trends.
  • Assist in Spotlight and Featured Item selection for PREVIEWS.
  • Find creative ways to move excess overstock inventory.
  • Review profitability of product listings with Team Leader.
  • Help prepare back up for and help answer questions from Order Processing.
  • Track movement and release dates for product.
  • Contact vendors regarding late shipping product.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining inventory levels for assigned vendors.
  • Present Diamond’s goals in a positive, constructive manner to suppliers, co-workers, retailers,  and sister companies.

The team player will work with senior leadership and warehouse operations to craft and develop solutions that meet the needs of the business and our customers. The WMS Developer will also be a strong proponent of fully leveraging standard functionality and minimizing system changes, ensuring that enhancements are operationally and financially justified.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Assess the current system state of multiple warehouse and back-office systems
  • Author documentation and diagrams for all custom logic and integration

  • BS in Computer Science or related field
  • Proficiency in SQL, Java, C, MOCA, and Groovy – C# and SQL Server are a plus
  • Proficiency in reading MOCA trace files to research the root cause of failures
  • Understanding of supply chain, logistics, and distribution functional concepts
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to all levels of the organization from warehouse associates to executive leadership - Spanish is a plus

SALES TRAINEE  —ALLIANCE GAME DISTRIBUTORS

POSITION TITLE:  Sales Trainee

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Trainee is responsible for developing new business and reactivating old accounts.  Once the account base is successfully developed to a set volume by management, it has the potential to grow into a full Account Representative position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Pursue leads to open new accounts
  • Contact inactive accounts and attempt to reactivate them
  • Maintain a territory of stores by selling new releases and restocks on, at a minimum, a weekly basis
  • Aggressively get preorders from accounts using Game Trade Magazine and other more targeted efforts
  • Develop strong relationships and earn the loyalty and trust of customers
  • Maintain the appropriate documentation about each account
  • Assist the Credit and Collection Department in maintaining the financial health of customers’ accounts
  • Use whatever means are necessary to ease the flow of communication between Alliance and their customers in order to more efficiently serve customers

MOLDING, CASTING AND FINISHING TECHNICIAN — DIAMOND SELECT TOYS AND COLLECTIBLES, LLC (DST)

POSITION TITLE:  Parts Molding/Casting/Finishing Technician

REPORTS TO:  Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles, LLC (DST) is seeking a Molding, Casting and Finishing Technician to join our staff. The Technician will play an active role in our organization, ensuring every part we produce looks exactly the way it is supposed to. With the possibility to advance within the organization, we are looking for a team player who never misses the fine details on a project, can prioritize on the fly, and understand what it takes to make something look its absolute best.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Sanding, priming, painting, and/or other advanced finishing techniques on both 3D printed parts and urethane/resin castings to meet project specific requirements;
  • Capable application of automotive grade primers and finishes;
  • Management of silicone rubbers and molding process for the casting and duplication of urethane/resin parts;
  • Mastery of both matrix molds and common box mold set up (set-up, pouring and opening);
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement;
  • Ability to patch, glue, fix or fabricate parts as needed;
  • Utilizing established finishing techniques to perfect master patterns;
  • Must be able to consistently remove 3D Printed “Build Lines” without sacrificing detail;
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, as well as bend and stoop to work with materials associated with molding, casting and finishing;
  • Must be able to pull, push and lift up to 30 pounds;
  • Various projects and other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Skills – Must be able to rapidly create molds for prototype development and generate multiple castings needed for tooling patterns and paint-master ready levels of quality. Able to work in a
  • fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet challenging deadlines with minimal        supervision. Applicants must also have a strong attention to detail, and good communication skills.
  • Education – Minimum High School Diploma preferred. References of professional prototyping and development experience being optimal.
  • Availability – Ability to work Monday to Friday, 9:00AM to 6:00PM, with occasional evening and weekend hours as workload demands.
  • Helpful Experience – Though not required, ability to use a waxer for sculpture and parts prep for finishing. Previous experience with product development, sanding, painting and color matching, sculpting, 3D printing, model kit assembly, parts prep, is preferred (particularly in prototyping and low-volume production settings).  Also, experience working with Entertainment properties, developing traditional toy and collectible products (action figures, Resin Statues, etc.), fabrication or kit building background preferred.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility – Capable of handling a constantly shifting set of priorities and often challenging timelines.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. is seeking an aggressive Sales Executive with a strong background in Toys & Collectibles and experience in sales to Mass Market, Specialty Retail Chains or International customers. The Account Executive’s primary focus is to aggressively prospect both domestically and internationally for new customers and increase our customer base while selling to and maintaining a strong relationship with established accounts. Additional responsibilities include product presentations, POS Analysis, and forecasting. Qualified candidates must be well informed in the world of pop culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Call on assigned customers on a regular basis.
  • Build relationships and sales with new accounts.
  • Review merchandise to solicit the best products for each assigned customer.
  • Inform customers of the services we offer, establishing the company as a competitive distribution choice.
  • Work with the company’s New Accounts Department, keeping up with the needs of recently opened accounts.
  • Use Internet and other research resources to prospect for customer leads for our varied product lines.
  • Provide feedback concerning industry trends, customer promotions and planogramming.
  • Responsible for providing customer service to assigned customers.
  • Follow-up account administration from close of sale through product delivery.
