Diamond Updates Item Detail Pages of Variant Covers and Cancelled Items

Diamond has implemented a new update affecting its Item Detail Pages that will allow retailers to now access all product information related to variant and canceled items.

Previously, retailers were not able to access product details for variants and cancelled items through individual Item Detail Pages because these items were non-orderable. For incentive-based/non-orderable variants (i.e. Marvel’s 1:25 Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #150 [SEP100566D, $5.99]), this update allows you to now view the books’ incentive levels, cover artwork if it’s available, creators, solicitation text, shipping dates, and other information regularly delivered on Diamond’s Item Detail Pages.  

For a cancelled item, the Item Detail Page previously only alerted retailers that the item had been cancelled, with no product information or explanation available. Now, however, when you access the Item Detail Page of a cancelled item, the regular product information will be available and a red field at the bottom of the page will alert you that the item has been cancelled and provide the reason for the cancellation (i.e. lateness, by Diamond, by the Publisher, etc.).
