Comicshoplocator.com Adds School and Library Badge

Quality comic book shops are a valuable resource for librarians and educators seeking graphic novels and graphic novel information. In the past, such partnerships have proven successful for all involved, with increased sales and circulation, classroom enhancement through special projects, as well as the satisfaction that comes with retailers' community involvement.

To help make the search for comic shops easier and more convenient, Diamond BookShelf has now partnered with the Comic Shop Locator Service (CSLS) web site to create a School and Library Partners badge.

"Comic shops with this badge have told Diamond they are willing to work with libraries and schools" said Diamond Bookshelf Editor Mark Banaszak. "This could mean help with choosing comics and graphic novels, putting together educational presentations such as talks on comics and collecting in your local schools, providing a discount for school and library purchases and much more."

Librarians and educators looking for a store to partner with can search their local area by simply typing in their address or zip code and look for the new badge.

Retailers who are CSLS members can participate simply by ordering Item Code JAN100001, many of whom have already done so when "ordering" the code during last year's free comic book day ordering cycle. Each quarter, the listings will be reviewed and updated with new retailers who have ordered the item code.

The new School and Library Partners badge is just one of the many ways that the CSLS helps drive new customers to comic shops through its marketing and promotional initiatives. Celebrating its 15 anniversary in 2011, the CSLS continues to move forward in fulfilling its mission to help grow business for its members.
