Diamond Changes Reorder Shipping Boxes

DiamondIn response to customer feedback, Diamond has discontinued the use of shipping boxes introduced in September of 2010 for reorder shipments in favor of the boxes utilized prior to that time. Retailers should note that Diamond will first exhaust its current supply of the newer box design before making this change, which is currently expected to happen in mid- to late-April 2011.

“The new box was introduced because of complaints by our customers that we were sending an extra box with just an oversize HC, for example. Our intent was to pack items of many varying dimensions into the same box which requires a ‘flexible’ center divider,” explained Diamond’s Vice President of Operations Cindy Fournier. “Unfortunately, some customers have reported that the box has not lived up to their expectations, sometimes resulting in damages. In response to retailer concerns, we will cease using this shipping box going forward.”

Fournier added, “We will continue to seek out new, more efficient packaging that reduces both damages and the number of boxes required for an order  which will lower shipping costs for our customers.”
