REMINDER: Diamond Strengthens Short Order Form Signature Authorization
In response to retailer suggestions, and effective with the August catalog,
Diamond has changed the wording on the Short Order Form in Previews, in
order to strengthen the language regarding consumers' obligation to purchase
items they have ordered.
The form previously read, "Your signature indicates that you are authorized to order items that are designated as 'Adult', and you are at least 18 years old."
That sentence has been changed to, "Your signature indicates you are legally authorized to order items designated as 'Adult', you are of legal adult age in your State, and you unconditionally agree to purchase all items you have ordered."
"This change is designed to benefit retailers by giving them a degree of protection should they ever face legal challenges stemming from the sale of adult materials," said Eric Beck, Diamond Director of Customer Service and Inside Sales. "This stronger language will also serve to make the order form more concrete as a contract for the consumer with the retailer."
