REMINDER: Diamond and The History Channel ® Team Up to Promote CSLS and Digging for the Truth Series
From February 6 - May 8, The History Channel ® will celebrate the new
season of its hit archaeological adventure series, Digging for the Truth,
with a special edition Digging For The Truth comic book and Search For
Shangri-La sweepstakes. The network is teaming with Diamond to promote the event
by distributing 750,000 mini-comics featuring an "exclusive" Digging For the
Truth adventure "The Search For Shangri-La", the sweepstakes... and the
Comic Shop Locator Service (CSLS)!
Hosted by Josh Bernstein, Digging for the Truth puts the adventure back into archaeology. Revealed in this promotional mini-comic, Josh's next exploration finds him searching for the lost paradise of Shangri-La and encountering evil forces out to thwart him. But this time Josh is asking for viewers to help determine the ending to this cliffhanger by tuning in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. E.T./8pm C.T., then answering trivia questions about that night's episode at History.com to receive a clue to solve the mystery.
The CSLS logo, toll-free number (888-COMIC-BOOK) and easy-to-remember Internet address (www.comicshoplocator.com) will be prominently featured in an ad in The History Channel's Digging for the Truth 12-page mini-comic, which in turn ties-in to the Shangri-La sweepstakes. The mini-comic will be widely distributed in both mainstream and specialty channels, ensuring strong exposure for CSLS members. In addition to comic shops, the free book will be distributed at HobbyTown USA locations, and The History Channel will include it in its e-commerce packages.
The CSLS will also be mentioned during The History Channel's televised ads for the Shangri-La promotion, resulting in exposure to millions of viewers for the service and the thousands of specialty stores it represents! Additional The History Channel support for the CSLS will include the CSLS logo and a link to www.comicshoplocator.com on History.com; radio station giveaways of graphic novel packages donated by Diamond; and CSLS logo and link placement on participating radio stations' websites.
All current CSLS participants who are signed up to receive promotional items from Diamond will automatically receive at least one free 100-count bundle of The History Channel's Digging for the Truth mini-comic (NOV058163J), for distribution to their customers, as well as a free 22" x 32" The History Channel Digging for the Truth Promo Poster (NOV058164J). Both will arrive with regular shipments on February 15.
Non-CSLS participants who want to join for this promotion-and the many other benefits of CSLS membership-as well as current CSLS participants who aren't signed up to receive promotional items but want to take part in this event, can do so by contacting their Diamond Customer Service Representative.
Now in its 10th year of operation, the CSLS is dedicated to making it as easy as possible for people to find the comics specialty shops nearest them. Supported by a wide range of industry vendors, the service has given out more than 1,000,000 referrals to over 500,000 consumers, with more being referred every day.
