Back Order Cancel Dates Extended for Selected Product Categories

.html
From the October 2003 Diamond Dialogue:

Effective today, October 17, Diamond has extended the Back Order Cancel Dates on several of its product categories, including Books -- Graphic Novels, Apparel, Card & Comics Supplies, and Prints & Posters.

Due to the change, when retailers place back orders for any of these categories' products, they will stay active for 45 days -- as opposed to the previous 30-day limit.

“When retailers place back orders through Diamond,” said Diamond Executive Director of Purchasing and Order Processing John Wurzer, “the orders stay active for a finite amount of time before they're canceled out. With this policy change, Diamond has come up with an effective way to fill retailers' back orders of products from these categories - which, at the end of the day, allows us to better serve our customers.”

Please Note: This policy change does not pertain to products from selected International suppliers, including: Art Storm, Attakus, Collins & Brown/Biblios Periodicals, DDD Distribution Center, Demons et Merveilles, Diamond UK, Inteleg International, Digital Media Distribution, Ediciones La Cupula SA, Egmont/Fleetway,

ent improvements to the Online Order Reports function, Diamond has now made it possible for retailers to view a printable listing of their <b>combined Initial Orders and Reorders for any given month</b>. By entering a batch number (e.g., "200310" would be the batch number for orders made in October 2003) and pressing the page's "Combines Init/Reo for Month" button in the "Enter Batch No." window provided, retailers will discover a list that contains vital information, including: <br><br>&#8226; The description, item codes, and prices of products ordered for that particular month via an Initial Order or a Reorder<br><br>&#8226; The quantity of each product ordered from Diamond <br><br>&#8226; The quantity of each product that Diamond has filled <br><br>&#8226; The date each product was ordered<br><br>&#8226; The fulfillment status of each product ordered by the customer for that month<br><br>&#8226; The Order Type used by the retailer to order a particular product<br><br>"This improvement makes it easier than ever for retailers to keep track of their Initial Orders and Reorders by the months they were made," said Diamond Customer Service Tech Support Representative Cheryl Sleboda.
