Chaos! Comics Declares Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

.html
After nine years of comics publishing and over 300 comics published, Chaos! Comics, Inc. has filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. As of August 15, 2002, all operations will cease and the company assets will be liquidated and the proceeds distributed to creditors. All Chaos! products offered through Diamond are cancelled.

When asked to confirm the closure, Chaos! Comics, Inc. President and publisher Brian Pulido responded, "As of August 15, 2002, Chaos! Comics, Inc. is shutting its doors. All elements of the business comic book publishing, mail order, licensing and entertainment will stop on August 15, 2002. Additionally, our annual fan festival, Fiend Fest, which was to be held on October 25-27, 2002 is cancelled."

Chaos! Comics was formed in November 1992, and launched its first product, Evil Ernie: The Resurrection #1, in June 1993 to a rousing success. In February 1994, Chaos! released Lady Death #1, which spearheaded the bad girl craze.

"I deeply appreciate the support of the entire community who supported Chaos! Comics through good times and bad," said Pulido. That includes our artists, printers, distributors, retailers and suppliers and especially our fans. To me, it's the fans who made Chaos! a success and who made this experience so rewarding. I will miss that the most."
