From The Scoop: Captain Caveman
From the September 22issue of Gemstone Publishing's The Scoop:
With his illustrious history in various Hanna-Barbera sketch shows like Scooby's Laff-a-lympics (where he first appeared in 1977) and The Flintstones Comedy Show, it's almost easy to forget how winning Captain Caveman really is all on his own. His hirsute, bullet-shaped torso may cast a bit of doubt as to his charm, but his constant companions – the Teen Angels balance out his odd appearance and allow us to see who he really is: a halfway decent crimefighter. He was also voiced by veteran voice actor Mel Blanc, who brought verve to the character all on his own.
The only prehistoric superhero whose origin story involves being thawed, Captain Caveman was discovered frozen in a block of ice. Three beautiful teenage girls freed him from the block and shortly thereafter he went on to fight crime, armed with a magic club that enables flight and the support of the girls. The concept earned him his own series in 1980, which aired from March to June of that year.
If you're really looking, you can probably find reruns of the show on cable networks.
