Troublemaker and Scott Pilgrim Top New York Times Bestseller Lists
The New York Times released its list of best-selling graphic novels for the week ending July 31st.
Dark Horse Comics' Troublemaker Book 1 by Janet Evanovich debuted at the #1 spot on the NYT's hardcover graphic novel list. This book, the first of a projected graphic novel mystery/thriller series about NASCAR driver Sam Hooker and mechanic Alexandra Barnaby, had a print run of over 100,000 copies, driven by Evanovich's combined career sales of over 75 million books.
The six volumes of Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim series from Oni Press took the top six spots on the NYT's softcover graphic novels bestseller list. Just adapted as the feature film, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World starring Michael Cera, Scott Pilgrim is about a young slacker twentysomething's search for life, love, and rock'n'roll.
