Devil’s Due/UDON Announce Sell-Out, 2nd Printing for Darkstalkers #1
Devil's Due Publishing/UDON have announced that Darkstalkers #1 has
sold out less than a week after its in-store date, and that a 2nd
Printing
(SEP042585E)
is now available for order under the first printing's Cover A item
code!
Featuring a new cover, the new printing is scheduled to arrive in stores on December 8.
The Darkstalkers comics series is based on Capcom's classic video game franchise of the same name. Darkstalkers characters were most recently featured in the Capcom Fighting Evolution game for Sony's PlayStation 2 platform.
"We are delighted that there is such a demand for a project that has been a true labor of love for the whole team," said UDON's Erik Ko. "Considering that Darkstalkers' strong appeal is not limited to Street Fighter and video game fans, but anime and horror fans as well, we knew that the new series would garner a lot of interest.
"We were, however, caught off guard with how much of an impact the cross promotion with the new game and store/print ads would have. Along with the new printing, we are encouraging retailers to increase their orders for upcoming issues, and hope to make them comfortable doing so by going back to press and keeping the first issue in print to capitalize on new readers both from inside and outside the comics industry.
"The Capcom titles will be very heavily promoted. We are planning on much more cross promotion with Capcom, and with the 10th anniversary of Darkstalkers coming next year, the hype is on and this title will be one of those that will draw more fans back to the comic stores!"
