Previews Takes a Trip to Sin City in February
From the February 2005 Diamond Dialogue:
Legendary comic book creator Frank Miller first took readers to the rain-swept, gritty streets of his Sin City way back in 1991's Dark Horse Presents #51. Although Miller's neo-noir masterpiece was first serialized, it can be said that it found its greatest success once the stories were collected in the first of several trade paperbacks. Mining the depths of the detective and crime genres of the early 20th century, and infusing it with a late 20th century sensibility, Sin City struck a resonant chord with readers across all demographics... including the likes of filmmakers Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.
It was Rodriguez who put everything on the line to bring Miller's unique vision to the silver screen in 2005, leaving the Director's Guild of America to allow Miller to co-direct the film. Premiering on April 1, Frank Miller's Sin City brings the graphic novels to life, and features the likes of Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, and Jessica Alba as Miller's most memorable characters. Sin City is coming on like a runaway freight train...and Previews has the all the cool comics and movie-related merchandise that your customers will need.
DARK HORSE COMICS
• Frank Miller's Sin City Volume 1: The Hard Goodbye TP - Second Edition (FEB050117V): Sin City is the place - tough as leather and dry as tinder. Love is the fuel, and the now-infamous character Marv has the match...not to mention a "condition." He's gunning after Goldie's killer, so it's time to watch this town burn!
• Frank Miller's Sin City Volume 2: A Dame to Kill For TP - Second Edition (FEB050118V): It's one of those hot nights, dry and windless. The kind that makes people do sweaty, secret things. Dwight's thinking of all they ways he's screwed up and what he'd give for one clear chance to wipe the slate clean, to dig his way out of the numb grey hell that is his life. And he'd give anything. Just to cut loose. Just to feel the fire. One more time.
• Frank Miller's Sin City Volume 3: The Big Fat Kill TP - Second Edition (FEB050119V): Criminals have always called the shots in Sin City, whether bootleggers, gamblers, or politicians. But ever since the first dame set up shop in Old Town, those side-streets have been run by the women who walk the night.
