Image Announces Retailer Incentive, New Writer for ShadowHawk #6
Image Comics Co-Founder Jim Valentino has announced big plans for his
Shadowline imprint -- including a new writer for its flagship title -- and Image
is celebrating with a special retailer incentive on ShadowHawk #6

Under the terms of this incentive, retailers will receive one free copy of ShadowHawk #6 Variant Edition, featuring an alternate cover by John Toledo & Marc Deering, for every five copies of the regular edition ordered by the order increase cut-off (OIC) date of September 7!
"Retailers have been great to me and to this industry," said Valentino. "I thought it would be a nice gesture to give them something for a change. So six on six, the sixth is free -- and yes, if you ordered 10 you get two for free -- and my first born (or at least, a beer on me)."
As for ShadowHawk's new writer, rising talent Scott Wherle takes the reins with issue #5 (JUL051624D), which was solicited in the July Previews for shipping in September. This 32-page, full-color book features the first chapter of a two-part story that co-stars Valentino's latest creation, Blacklight.
"I brought Scott in to write the Blacklight series and really liked the fresh approach he brought to it," said Valentino. "When Jim Keplinger, writer of the first four critically lauded issues, said he was looking to move on to some other projects after finishing up the first arc, I didn't have far to look for a replacement. Blacklight's received a lot of positive buzz, much of it attributed to Scott's clever plots and sharp dialogue. [Shadowline] Editor Kris Simon and I agreed: this was a no-brainer."
"When somebody you admire digs your stuff and trusts you with his most popular creation, it's the ultimate compliment," said Wherle. "Not to mention it's a blast to be on the ground floor of something new, fun and altogether cool. Jim's got big plans, and I'm honored to be part of them."
