DST Reveals Updated Images of Serenity Action Figures
With Universal Pictures' Serenity motion picture a little under two
months away, Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles has unveiled updated images of
its line of action figures based on the film's key characters!
Directed by Oscar- and Emmy-nominated writer/director Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Serenity is scheduled for release on September 30. Based on Whedon's cult-hit television series, Firefly, Serenity will continue and expand the adventures of the series' memorable characters, who will be joined by new characters expressly for the movie adaptation. Whedon will act as both screenwriter and director, with Barry Mendel (The Sixth Sense) producing and Chris Buchanan & Alisa Tager serving as executive producers. The Serenity cast will include such returning Firefly favorites as Nathan Fillion (Captain Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds), Gina Torres (Zoe Warren), Morena Baccarin (Inara Serra), Jewel Staite (Kaylee Frye), Adam Baldwin (Jayne Cobb), Sean Maher (Dr. Simon Tam), and Summer Glau (River Tam).
Presenting a first look at these figures' final sculpts -- all of which offer improved representations of the movie's actors -- as well as the packaging, these images have larger versions, which can be viewed by clicking their applicable caption links. Details on the figures are as follows:
