Diamond Expands Distribution Operations in Memphis
In an effort to improve operations and better serve its customers' needs,
Diamond has expanded its Distribution Center in Memphis, TN.
Having opened in September 2002, Diamond's Memphis Distribution Center originally encompassed one facility boasting 270,000 sq. ft. Now, to keep pace with the industry's ongoing expansion, Diamond has leased an additional 47,000 sq. ft. at a second Memphis facility. The original location will house over 20,000 SKUs -- more than 17 million units -- and process direct shipments and returns, while the new location will process weekly shipments.
Diamond Memphis Distribution Center Regional Manager Shawn Hamrick will continue to oversee operations at the original Memphis facility, while Memphis Distribution Center Regional Manager Debby Salvatore will oversee the new facility, which opens today, September 26.
"With more of our vendors' SKUs being made available on a perennial basis, it was only a matter of time before additional Memphis warehouse space became a necessity," said Diamond Vice President of Operations Cindy Fournier. "We're glad to make this expansion on behalf of our customers, and look forward to continuing to give them the best service possible."
