TOKYOPOP Announces Rising Stars of Manga Contest Winners

TOKYOPOP has announced the results of its sixth Rising Stars of Manga competition, with the winners receiving monetary prizes, publication in TOKYOPOP's upcoming Rising Stars of Manga Volume 6 GN (APR063389E) and the opportunity to pitch new series ideas to the publisher! 

Since its launch in 2003, the Rising Stars of Manga contest -- America's first-ever manga competition -- has showcased a wide array of gifted storytellers, writers, artists & genres, and has introduced the manga art form to numerous new readers. 

Awards this year go to Grand Prize Winner Rob Ten Pas’ “Bomango,” Second Prize Winner Yasmin Saaka’s “Girl/Boy,” Third Prize Winner Eden’s “Departure,” People’s Choice Winner (chosen online by fans) J.D. Robinson’s “10 Simple Rules” and Runners-Up Anthony Go Wu; Ryo Kawakami & Jamison Taylor and Nichol. 

Carrying an Order Increase Cut-off (OIC) date of Tuesday, May 9, the 192-page, black-and-white Rising Stars of Manga Volume 6 GN is scheduled to ship June 30.
