Dark Horse to Donate Profits from Joint adidas Sportswear Venture to CBLDF
Dark Horse Comics is teaming with sportswear giant adidas for some cool new apparel -- a Dark Horse Shoe and Reversible Track Jacket -- in a partnership that will generously benefit the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF)!
As part of the clothing manufacturer’s “adicolor” line, adidas will debut the Dark Horse Shoe and Reversible Track Jacket in select retailers around the world May 20. The shoe, limited to 5,000 pairs, features the trademark Dark Horse red and black colors, two sets of interchangeable insoles (one with a character collage) and two pairs of laces, and ships in special SpyBoy wrapping paper. The fully reversible jacket, limited to 2,500 pieces, features a collage of iconic characters against a red background on one side and, when reversed, the words “Dark Horse” in Japanese kanji characters against a black background. Dark Horse will donate all of the profits -- $18,000 -- from sales of the limited apparel to the CBLDF, a non-profit organization committed to upholding First Amendment rights for members of the comic book community.
