POTC: Dead Man’s Chest Continues Box Office Domination with $62M Take
For the second weekend in a row, Walt Disney Pictures’ Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest commanded the box office, bringing total ticket sales to a staggering $258.2 million, and retailers can capitalize on the excitement with products from Diamond!
The sequel to 2003’s smash-hit Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man’s Chest is wowing critics and audiences alike with even more swashbuckling action and supernatural intrigue than before. Directed by Gore Verbinski with Jerry Bruckheimer serving as executive producer, the movie stars Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner and Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann, reprising their roles from the phenomenally popular first film. Joining the cast are Bill Nighy as the sea devil Davy Jones and Stellan Starsgård as Will’s father, Bootstrap Bill Turner.
