Diamond Improves Pricing on Viz DVDs

.html
Retailers can now order many of Viz Communications' most popular DVD titles at lower Net Costs that make them more profitable than ever.

The new pricing affects all Viz DVDs currently in stock, and all new releases starting with those shipping in April.

"Recently, Viz changed its distribution partner for DVDs," explained Diamond Video/DVD Brand Manager Brian McGeehan. "Because of this, Diamond is able to purchase Viz's DVD titles at lower prices, and we are pleased to pass along savings in the form of a better discount -- up from 28% to 35% -- to our customers.

"Best of all," McGeehan added, "the SRPs on these titles have remained the same, increasing profit potential and making these DVDs more competitive with other anime DVDs!"

Viz titles that are now available at reduced Net Costs include Ceres Celestial Legend, Chinese Ghost Story (animated), Fatal Fury, Great Dangaioh, Hamtaro, Inu Yasha, Key the Metal Idol, Night Warriors, Please Save My Earth, Pokémon, Project Arms, Ranma 1/2, Trouble Chocolate, Video Girl Ai, and Zoids.

One example: The Ceres Celestial Legend Vol. 1 DVD, originally priced at a Net Cost of $21.49, now carries a Net Cost of $19.49. However, the DVD's SRP of $29.95 remains unchanged, meaning that retailers can earn an extra $2.00 from the sale of each DVD!

Several boxed sets are also affected by the change. For example, the Ranma 1/2: Anything Goes Martial Arts Box Set DVD -- which originally carried a Net Cost of $86.99 -- now carries a Net Cost of $77.99, while the $119.88 SRP remains unchanged. This translates into an additional $9.00 of profit for retailers!
