Time Magazine Spotlights Marvel’s Death of Captain America
The March 26 issue of Time Magazine featured coverage of Marvel Comics’ recent Death of Captain America storyline, resulting in increased mainstream attention for the event!
Featured in the magazine’s “Milestones” column, the retrospective briefly detailed the events of Captain America’s death and noted the hero’s past accomplishments, including his exploits battling the Nazis during World War II, his Cold War activities and his occasional tussles with an oppressive American government. Calling him a champion of civil liberties, Time also wondered if Captain America would return like other once-deceased icons, to which Marvel Publisher Dan Buckley replied, “He’s very dead right now.”
