Burger King Announces DC Comics/Justice League Promotion
The Burger King Corporation has announced that action toys based on seven
of DC Comics' most popular characters who star in The Cartoon Network's
Justice League animated program -- Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green
Lantern, Flash, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkgirl -- will be packaged into Burger
King Big Kids' Meals beginning April 21.
Each toy features a Justice League crime-fighter showcasing his or her unique powers in "a display of super-hero prowess." The promotion is scheduled to run for five weeks, during which time kids can collect all eight toys, as well as accompanying 12-page mini-comic books. Furthermore, each comic book will feature storylines inspired by the toy's activity, and will comprise one of the largest custom-comic print runs ever published.
"These super-heroes appeal both to kids who have come to know and love the Justice League cartoon as well as parents who grew up admiring these popular characters," said Burger King Vice President, Global Advertising and Promotions Craig Braasch. "These eight action-based toys inside our Kids Meals, as well as the mini-comic books, will give our young customers hours of enjoyment."
"We are extremely excited to bring these well-loved and empowering super-heroes to Burger King restaurants," said Warner Bros. Consumer Products/DC Comics Senior Vice President of Advertising and Promotions Joel Ehrlich. "We are certain that this supreme team of Justice League members will provide the same fun and excitement they have offered for decades to the kids of today at Burger King restaurants."
