WALT DISNEY CLASSICS COLLECTION: THE RESCUERS MEDUSA WITH PENNY PORCELAIN STATUE

A Walt Disney Classics Collection release! In Disney’s 1977 animated classic The Rescuers, greedy, villainous Madame Medusa forces little orphan Penny into finding the Devil’s Eye, the world’s largest diamond. Now this devilish dame holds Penny’s most precious possession, her teddy bear, hostage. Feisty Penny demands teddy back, but Medusa stands her evil ground holding Penny at bay with one foot, because the mad Medusa has hidden the purloined jewel in the back of the stuffed bear (represented by a Swarovski crystal in the sculpture). Faithfully re-creating the dramatic film moment in fine porcelain, and referencing archival Disney animation material and colors, this sculpture also serves as a tribute to legendary animator Milt Kahl, one of Walt Disney’s original “Nine Old Men” and Disney Legend. Andreas Deja, current Supervising Animator for Walt Disney Feature Animation, who has given his talents to the creation of such classics as Disney’s The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid, shares his insights into one of his favorite characters and the work of Milt Kahl on a special hand-signed signature card enclosed in each sculpture box. Sculpted by Master artisan, Ken Melton, this piece measures 8.25" tall and is limited to 1,977 pieces (in honor of the film's year of release)! (587) (C: 1-1-3) NOTE: Not available in Germany.
