EC Library Complete Picto-Fiction
It's an early solicitation that shouldn't be missed as Gemstone
Publishing offers The EC Library Complete Picto-Fiction Set. These
are the last gems in the legendary EC comics' crown. The success of Mad
converting from comic book to magazine format opened the door to other titles
being tried in that format. Titles like Shock Illustrated, Terror
Illustrated, Crime Illustrated, and Confessions Illustrated
became the forerunners of magazines like Warren's Creepy and
Eerie
These magazines were far ahead of their time and the low sales and poor distribution caused their demise. Some of the original issues are so rare that fewer than 100 copies were hand-bound to honor subscriptions. Now these rare issues, as well as 18 additional unpublished stories by creators such as Reed Crandall, Jack Davis, George Evans, Graham Ingels, Jack Kamen, Joe Orlando, Angelo Torres, Al Williamson, and Wallace Wood, and writers Robert Bernstein, Al Feldstein, Daniel Keyes, John Larner, Jack Oleck, and others are available for the first time.
This four volume hardcover slipcased set is the perfect conclusion to the EC Library sets that began 35 years ago.
