Cancellation Policy
The salability of a product in the marketplace — especially one in which product is ordered on a non-returnable basis — relies upon suppliers to provide retailers and consumers who order from Previews with the products they want — as solicited, and on time.
Comics Suppliers
In conjunction with our suppliers, we have developed a Cancellation Policy which states that if a product is not received by Diamond within 30 days of its scheduled ship date, Diamond reserves the right to amend or cancel our purchase orders for that product, or to make it returnable under our criteria for Authorized Returns.
For example: You solicit a comic title in the January issue of Previews for March shipping. Having done this, your title will now be expected to ship by March 31. If, however, it does not, you must ship it to Diamond so that we receive it by April 30. If it fails to arrive by that time, your Brand Manager will contact you to determine to determine the best course of action:
- Order Adjustable—Diamond's customers will have the opportunity to change their order quantities due to the lateness of the product. Once order quantities have been adjusted, Diamond will send you a revised Purchase Order.
- Cancellation—The product will not ship at all. You may, at a later date, choose to resolicit the product, meaning that you will once again be evaluated to be listed in Previews and take orders.
- Returnable—The product will ship to retailers, but they will have the option of returning unsalable quantities to you at your expense.
Whatever path you choose will be a mutual decision made with the help of your Brand Manager and Diamond's Order Processing Department.
Non-Comics Suppliers
The only exception to the 30-day policy pertains to Merchandise which is not manufactured and distributed along the same guidelines as those governing comics, and thus requires additional lead time. In this case, product which does not ship within 90 days after its intended ship month will be cancelled, or distributed on a returnable basis. Your Diamond Brand Manager will help you determine whether your product is an exception to the rule.
