No caption.Assembled "by fans for fans," the 18th annual Otakon takes place at the Baltimore Convention Center July 29-31. Otakon is one of the longest-running anime/manga conventions in the U.S., and is currently the second largest.

The three day event will feature a number of panels and events, including film screenings, anime/film premieres, costume contests, concerts, a fashion show, and a dance.

Panel topics include:

-Akira and Its Cultural Impact
-Anime, Manga, and Education
-Best Manga You Never Read
-Exploring Tokyo
-Get Yourself to Japan 101: Vacas to Visas
-Unusual Manga Genres

There will also be a mock Japanese Matsuri festival on Thursday, July 28.
