Characters from the beloved classic anime, Lupin the 3rd, are coming to life as a new set of Lupin III 12-Inch Action Figures, and they are available exclusively in North America through Diamond Comic Distributors!
Lupin III debuted in 1967 in manga format, and quickly captured the hearts and imaginations of Japanese fans. Its popularity, which rivals that of Dragonball Z and Gundam, led to 228 TV episodes, eight theatrical films, and 13 TV movies, as well as a merchandise line which is comparable in size to the Pokemon franchise. The series' relaunch in 2003 on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" programming block and classic manga translation from Tokyopop introduced Lupin III to Western Audiences, who were infected by the sense of good-natured fun contained within the stories. Now, fans of the series can collect the characters from the successful anime with this new set of action figures!
Manufactured by Medicom and imported exclusively by Diamond Select Toys, this series depicts three of the main characters from the beloved show as 12" tall action figures.The legendary thief Lupin includes a Walther P-38 pistol, plus an extra head with a different expression! The sexy Fujiko Mine comes with a Browning M-1910 gun. Lupin's sidekick, Daisuke Jigen, comes with his trademark Smith & Wesson M19 combat magnum. Each figure features fabric costumes on a highly articulated body, and is part of Medicom's "Stylish Collection" series. Scheduled to ship in May 2004, these are three figures that no anime fan or action figure collector should be without!
