Hellboy Statue Leads New Dark Horse Merchandise
A hell-spawned hero, a master of the macabre, and an irrepressible imp -- all of whom enjoy strong fan followings -- are featured in new collectibles offered by Dark Horse Comics in this month's Previews!
● Classic Comic Book Characters Series #1: Hellboy Statue (SEP040162, $49.95) -- This first Modern Classics statue from Yoe! Studios (the artisans behind Dark Horse's successful Classic Comic Characters Statues) will inaugurate a series of works re-creating comic book characters from the past 30 years. Capturing Mike Mignola's signature hero as a 5"-tall "Syroco"-style statue, and created under Mignola's supervision, the piece will be limited an edition of 750. It is scheduled to ship -- with a vintage-style pinback button, plus a booklet about the character and his creator -- in a special litho-printed, full-color, tin box on January 19, 2005. ● Tim Burton's The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories -- Dark Horse will expand its fan-favorite line of collectibles and products based on the filmmaker's dark, whimsical book with the Voodoo Girl Figure Boxed Set (SEP040127, $24.99), featuring the first PVC appearance of the character in an exclusive package that also contains a hardcover copy of Burton's book, and the Stick Boy & Matchstick Girl Note Cards & Figures Boxed Set (SEP040128, $17.99), which will contain two more set-exclusive PVC figures with eight note cards (two each of four designs) containing Burton's original character drawings and a card reprinting the poem about their doomed romance. Both items are scheduled to ship on January 12. Please Note: These items are not available outside North America & the U.K.
● Hot Stuff -- Harvey Comics' delightful devil will be the subject of four new collectibles created by Demons et Merveilles and imported from France by Dark Horse. Offered this month are the Hot Dog Statuette (SEP040139, $49.99), the Piggy Bank Figurine (SEP040140, $24.99), the Mmmm Figurine (SEP040141, $24.99), and the Temper Tantrum Figurine (SEP040142, $24.99). All four are slated to ship on October 27.
