DC/Vertigo Pulls the Trigger

A futuristic world where America's safety is largely overseen by a consolidated corporate entity will provide a suspenseful backdrop to DC Comics/Vertigo's new ongoing series, Trigger, by Jason Hall and John Watkiss.

Science-fiction fans who like to explore the flaws of "perfect" societies such as those found in Blade Runner and Minority Report, should find excitement in the new series. Similarly, comics readers who have enjoyed Hall and Watkiss's work on Beware the Creeper and Sandman Mystery Theatre, respectively, should also be entranced.

Trigger #1 (OCT040366, $2.95) will introduce readers to an America where 87% of its corporations have merged into Ethicorp, a government-sanctioned company that has helped citizens live in a safe, terror-free, and productive environment, thanks to an army of high-tech killers called "Triggers" to eliminate anything "bad." But "bad" can be a very subjective thing, as this society of non-stop video feeds, feel-good drugs, clean sex, and low crime is about to learn.

The book is scheduled to ship on December 15, and is suggested for mature readers.
